Just following on from another thread. There seems to be a general assumption here that most puzzlers are men.

I would like to know, what the m/f split is here.

So I don't get out much - tell me something new Embarassed

Why do I do this to myself?

You may be pleasantly surprised...

... I would put it at 60/40 in favour of the females.

This poll could of course be totally biased because let's face it men are far too lazy to do any more than is absolutely necessary Laughing

So why are so many people surprised when they realise that I am a woman?

Have any men here ever had a PM saying "OMG, I didn't realise you were a bloke!" I doubt it, yet I have had several, both here and on PD, amazed that I am a girl.

Mr WP thinks I am a complete fruitcake, getting hopelessly addicted to sites like this Laughing (he may have a point)

Why do I do this to myself?

Hrm...I only assumed werewolf was a man since many women (that i know anyway) would ever go around calling themselves that for a screen name or whichever...as werewolves are seen as hairy, strong, smelly, drooly...kinda like a man! oops! hehe no hits against men, we all love them Laughing (yes, i'm a girl) - and i feel most puzzlers are women too...as mentioned above by another poster

I may be smelly, but I am certainly not hairy. For the record: I NEVER RECEIVED MY ORIGINAL START EMAIL FROM SPARKPLUG - SO ACSHUN! (he'll get that). That email had the name that I usually use - GothamGal.
I am a writer, and I write about werewolves in my spare time, so there is the connection.

The fact is that women are better verbally (I am not, I am exception and prefer math), and many of these riddles are word-based.

A female werewolf

Yes, I suspect many of us with androgenous names and avatars are actually female.
